Abstract

In this conceptual paper the relevancy for organizational and staff development when integrating information technology into schools will be discussed. The overall question is how integrating information technology works successfully and which means prove to be efficient in a general basis to be applicable to varying educational contexts.
As the world becomes more and more networked, a new era of globalization has developed with the help of digitalization. Four areas of school development have to be thought of together: organization, staff, technology and teaching. When overlapping these facets of school development behind the backdrop of communication and collaboration this is how schools can develop strategies to properly prepare their students for the 21st century.
The research design is a design-based, mixed-methods approach aiming at determining factors of success for the use of information technology in teacher education as well as the instruction about information technology in faculty and staff development.
