On 11th of February 2015, Prof. Mamoru Koga, Dean at Seinan Gakuin University, has visited our university to talk about the oppurtunities for student exchange betwen the universities. Prof. Koga presented his university's strategy for international cooperations in teaching via videoconferencing.
Während manche Städte über ein allgemeines Handverbot an Schulen nachdenken, nehmen die Schulen in den Kommunen Kamp Lintfort und Straelen / Wachtendonk die Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung an und machen sich auf den Weg, Unterricht auch mit den privaten Geräten von Schülerinnen und Schülern zu gestalten.
Learning Lab will move to Essen in May - joining the other research groups of the faculty of education at the new building on the main campus in Essen! Now, the other groups are located in the Weststadttürme at Berliner Platz and most of them will be relocated within the next 12 months. Currently, the infrastructure for the lab is being built and we are looking forward to using the new facilities.

Tanja Adamus hat im Rahmen der Disputation am 28. Januar 2015 die Ergebnisse ihrer Dissertation zur Kompetenzentwicklung im E-Sport vorgestellt. Die Arbeit untersucht die Expertise von erfahrenen Computerspielern (hier: insb. Warcraft), wodurch sich diese charakterisieren lässt und welche Strategien die Spieler angewendet haben, um diese aufzubauen. Im Rahmen der Disputation stellte sie Thesen vor zum Zusammenhang von Spielen und Lernen und ihren Implikationen für Individuum und Gesellschaft. Die Dissertation wird als open access unter DuePublico demnächst verfügbar sein.
Das E-learning-NRW Zertifikat bietet Lehrenden die Möglichkeit, sich - an den Hochschulen des Landes NRW - im Bereich mediengestützter Lehre zu qualifizieren und ihre Kompetenzen nachzuweisen. Es ist angelegt als eine gemeinsames Programm von E-Learning Akteuren des Landes in NRW.
Interessierte Hochschulen in NRW sind eingeladen, an der Gestaltung des Zertifikatsprogramm, das im Laufe des Jahres 2016 starten soll, mitzuwirken!

At Dec 16th, 2014, Prof. Dr. Stefanie A. Hillen from Agder University, Norway, gave a lecture on "Integrative digital learning and teaching in higher ed and the relevance of formative assessement" at our Learning Lab. As part of the lab's research colloquium, this lecture was organized in cooperation with the University's Center for Empirical Research in Education. The liveley discussion centered around methods of assessment and how they support or impede learning on the internet.
