Rückblick: Internationale Konferenz "Inverted Classroom & Beyond"

An der Pädagogischen Hochschule Niederösterreich fand am 11. und 12. Februar die internationale Konferenz "Inverted Classroom & Beyond" statt. Knapp 100 Teilnehmende tauschten sich in vielen Workshops, Knowledge Cafes und interaktiven Vorträgen zu Themen rund um das Modell des Flipped/Inverted Classroom aus. Auch Augmented und Virtual Reality, Lernmythen und neue Formen der Leistungsfeststellung waren zentrale Themen der diesjährigen Konferenz.

Vom 23.09. bis zum 25.09. fand an der Fachhochschule Magdeburg die 18th International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL) zusammen mit dem 4th International Symposium of Emerging Technologies for Education (SETE) statt.  Diese Tagung wird jährlich von der Hong Kong Web Society ausgerichtet und beschäftigt sich mit aktuellen technischen Entwicklungen im Bildungswesen.

Vom 17.09. bis zum 20.09. fand an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Oberösterreich der ÖFEB-Kongress 2019 statt. Die Österreichische Gesellschaft für Forschung und Entwicklung im Bildungswesen veranstaltet diese Tagung alle zwei Jahre, das diesjährige Thema beschäftigte sich mit der Frage "Vermessen? Vom Verhältnis von Bildungsforschung, Bildungspolitik und Bildungspraxis".

Project "Editathon": Escalation of social groups self-organising learning results in a) learning focused around concepts of interest to groups and b) social influence of individuals on the discourse. The ability to self-assemble and participate in online, informal learning events can be viewed as a basic human right. In a democracy everyone should have the ability /responsibility to set up informal, open learning events to learn and to and facilitate the learning of others.

We welcome Dr. Ahmed Saad Eldin Anwar Morsy from Egypt! He will stay in Germany for 12 months as a post-doctoral researcher with a national grant. After his dissertation on "Assessment of Post Graduates Distance Learners and its Impact on Developing Teacher's and Student's Performance" at Cairo University he is working as a E-Content Development Manager at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Cairo.

On Thursday, 12th of February 2015, Prof. Maarten de Laat and Bieke Schreurs - both working at the Open Universiteit Netherland - visited the Learning Lab. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss research on the topic of social network analysis, as well as to identify possibilities for future collaboration.

On 11th of February 2015, Prof. Mamoru Koga, Dean at Seinan Gakuin University, has visited our university to talk about the oppurtunities for student exchange betwen the universities.  Prof. Koga presented his university's strategy for international cooperations in teaching via videoconferencing.

At Dec 16th, 2014, Prof. Dr. Stefanie A. Hillen from Agder University, Norway, gave a lecture on "Integrative digital learning and teaching in higher ed and the relevance of formative assessement" at our Learning Lab. As part of the lab's research colloquium, this lecture was organized in cooperation with the University's Center for Empirical Research in Education. The liveley discussion centered around methods of assessment and how they support or impede learning on the internet.
